Direct Access States
Next Choice is available without a prescription for women 17 or older & for women 16 or younger, a prescription is required. However, given the importance of easier access to emergency contraception, pharmacists in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Washington can be trained and certified in providing Next Choice directly to patients 16 years of age or younger. Please note that certification requirements vary from one state to the next.
